Wilcox made a difference early on in his career averaging 7.8 points per game as a true freshman in 1980-81. Improvement continued in his sophomore year, leading the team in scoring with 16.5 points per game with over 90% free throw shooting and shooting over 50% from the field. In his junior year, he was an All-SDIC selection, averaging over 17 points per game. In 1983-84, his senior year he helped lead the team to a share of the SDIC Championship going 19-9 overall and 11-3 in the SDIC. He finished his career 6th on the all-time scoring list and currently sits in 12th with 1,340 points.
