Hall of Fame
A 1977 civil engineering graduate, Don Bachand was a solid contributor on the men's basketball team throughout his time at South Dakota Mines. He averaged nearly double digits in points in his last two years and was named All-SDIC in his junior season. Bachand played under head coach Mike Riley and was a student-athlete who maximized his abilities. He consistently guarded the best frontline player on the opposition and was a great rebounder in his four seasons. These skills proved to Coach Riley and opposing coaches that Bachand was an all-conference player on both ends of the court.
