Coach Bob Hunt, basketball. Hunt had a long and distinguished 38-year career at SD Mines. He felt his tenure at SD Mines was his destiny and attended SD Mines for two years, lettering in football, basketball and track in 1934-1935.

After graduating from college, Bob returned to SD Mines in 1946 to coach the men's basketball team following World War II. He coached SD  Mines first-ever SDIC conference Championship team in 1954-1955.

He served as golf coach for 10 years, winning five SDIC Championships and four NAIA District Championships.

He became the first Lady Hardrocker basketball coach in 1975 and won two SDIC titles and the 1980 AIAW State Championship. Bob Hunt holds a very special place in the history of Hardrocker Athletics. His enthusiasm and dedication has been an inspiration to all.
