Megan Barnes (2000-03) was an exceptional volleyball standout competing at the outside hitter position for the Hardrockers and excelled as a guard for the SD Mines women’s basketball team. During her Hardrocker volleyball career, Barnes was a four-time DAC-10 First Team Selection, two-time All-Region First team selection and a two time NAIA All-American. She amassed 2082 total kills as a Hardrocker as well as a number of single season records, which include: 2000 – 4th all-time single season aces (56), 8th all-time single season attacks (391), 6th all-time single season in kills per game (3.69), 14th all-time single season digs (383); 2002 – 2nd all-time single season aces (65), 1st all-time single season attacks (632), 2nd all-time single season kills per game (4.8), 8th all-time single season digs (623), 2003 – 13th all-time single season aces (43), 2nd all-time single season attacks (576), 18th all-time single season digs (337).

During her basketball career, Barnes breached the 1,000-point barrier and, at the time of her induction, was the 21st all-time scorer in Lady Hardrocker history with 1,069 points and was 12th all-time for three-pointers made (109).
