Boyle attended SD Mines from 1975-79 where he earned a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. During this time he played basketball and became a four-year letter winner and the fifth leading all-time scorer with 1,405 points. His education landed him a job with Armco Steel for six years in Kansas City, Mo. After the birth of his daughter, Jen, he and his wife Nancy decided to move their family to Rapid City.
