Jack Goth was a four-year member of the men's basketball team and was a captain during the 1949-50 season. His coach Bob Hunt said, "Jack is a threat on offense, a good rebounder and the best defensive player on the squad." 

Goth scored a career-high 26 points on Feb. 4, 1950 to help the Hardrockers defeat General Beadle College, 71-55.
