Rusty Kocon graduated with a degree in mechanical engineering following the 1991-92 season and had a great career with South Dakota Mines, despite playing just two seasons. He achieved the remarkable feat of scoring over 1,000 points in his career in just two seasons. Kocon was a two-time All-SDIC selection after averaging 21.3 points per game in his junior season and 18.4 points per game in his senior season. At graduation, Kocon was the #14 scorer and held the career record for three-pointers made. At the time of his induction, he was #26 on the all-time scoring list with 1,148 points scored in his career.
