MEDIA GUIDELINES
Media Credentials
Credentials for South Dakota Mines home athletic events, as well as sideline passes, will only be issued to working media outlets. If you wish to obtain credentials, please contact the SID Office at least 24 hours prior to the event. Any person wishing to take photos must obtain credentials from the athletic communications office as well.
Interview Policy
All South Dakota Mines coaches and players are normally available for interviews following a 10-minute post-game cool down period, as per NCAA regulations. All interviews with coaches and student-athletes are asked to go through the SID office and should be requested 24 hours in advance.Â
Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Services
Statistics, league standings, players of the week and other information for all Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams and the league as a whole are available at www.RMACSports.org.
South Dakota Mines Media Policies
It is the expectation of the South Dakota Mines Athletic Communications Office that contact between Hardrocker Athletics and the media be initiated by or through the Hardrocker AD of Athletic Communications.
The Hardrocker Athletic Communications Office will assist the media in contacting members of the Hardrocker staff as well as South Dakota Mines scholar athletes. The AD of Athletic Communications and head coaches will also share in the responsibility for coordinating all subsequent interviews and information sharing.
Any printed material (including brochures) or any graphic designs for website and social media must be approved by the Athletic Communications office to keep styles and wording consistent throughout the entire department.
Student contact information will not be released by the Athletic Communications Office without permission of the student athlete and head coach.
When coaches and Hardrocker staff are conducting interviews please be aware of your appearance and --- if at all possible --- make sure you're wearing the approved Grubby mascot apparel along with current Under Armor gear.
Brand and Visual Identity Policy
When designing t-shirts and other Hardrocker apparel, all artwork must be approved by the Athletic Communications Office. Hardrocker Athletics is a brand and we have to maintain consistency when using that brand. Also note that Grubby cannot be altered in anyway (example: reversing colors, surrounding him with pick axes and other accessories).
"SDSM&T", "sDm" Â and "SD Mines" are no longer an acceptable acronym for our institution. "South Dakota Mines", Â "Hardrocker Athletics", "'SDM" are all acceptable and approved.
And never to be referred to as "Tech" .
