Shannon (Hellman) Reed began her collegiate career as a Hardrocker, earning four All-American Honors -- winning two NAIA National Championships in the 100-meter high hurdles and setting eight SD Mines school records in the hurdle and sprint events (2006-07). Reed went on to finish her career at Black Hills State, earning three more national titles in the high hurdles and five more All-American honors in the high hurdles, pentathlon and heptathlon.
As a Hardrocker she also earned eight Dakota Athletic Conference individual championships (100 HH, 200, 400, 400 HH) and held the South Dakota collegiate record in the 100 HH for SD Mines.Â
