1992-93 Women’s Basketball Team enjoyed one of the greatest seasons in the program’s history. The Lady Hardrockers tied the school record for wins in a season with 20 at the time--- which was the first 20-win season for head coach Barb Felderman -- and had two scholar-athletes move into the 1,000 point club. Steph Law and Kalli Gilman became the sixth and seventh women’s players to breach the mark in their careers.
That year Law was the team’s leading scorer (14.2 ppg) and rebounder (11.0 rpg) and was nationally ranked in field goal shooting percentage (.593) which was a school record (at the time) as well. Gilman averaged 13.4 ppg. Darcy Birkeland was one of the most consistent players on the team during the season and averaged 13.8 points and shot 44.3 percent from the field.
The floor general of this Lady Hardrocker team was Erin Cihak, who was very efficient at running the Lady Hardrocker offense and was also ranked nationally in assists, averaging 5.0 apg and helped the team average 74.0 pointer perg game which was also a record at the time.
Members of the team that were selected to the All-SDIC team included: Steph Law, Erin Cihak, Kalli Gilman and Darcy Birkeland.
The team finished with a 20-7 overall record and 9-1 mark in the SDIC which gave them a share of the conference championship.
