DENVER, Colo. – The South Dakota Mines cross country team went to Denver to compete in snowy conditions at the South Central Regional Championships.
South Dakota Mines had some strong performances but wasn't able to do enough to give themselves a shot at nationals.
The men finished in 15th place, with three runners coming in the top 100.
Tristan Enders paced the team, finishing in 75th with a time of 34:14.24 while
Owen Hansmann took 80th (34:19.02). Also finishing in the top 90 was
Justin Quammen who finished the race in 34:37.64.
Cole Tatro,
Tyler Captain and
Joran Lamoreaux finished outside the top 100 with times of 35:28.2, 35:31.61 and 35:44.61.
Led by two top 100 finishers, the women took 18th as a team.
Allyson Heiden posted a time of 24:40.94 to finish in 83
rd, while
Clare Fischer finished in 93rd (25:06.15).
Abbie Saline,
Alana Howard,
Laine Mannes,
Addison Smetana and
Katie Magni ran times of 25:20.41, 25:54.61, 25:59.50, 26:22.02 and 27:45.84.
