COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Men's and Women's Cross Country competed at the RMAC Championship on Friday and picked up 10
th and 14
th place, respectively.
The Hardrocker men recorded 10
th place at the meet in Colorado Springs. Jordan Lamoreaux ran a 25:44.8, a new career best in the 8k.
Zach Hentschel finished behind him in 53
rd with his 26:14.58.
Tanner Reinert and
Tristan Enders recorded 72
nd and 73
rd, respectively.
Evan Valencia rounded out the top five with a 27:19.80.
South Dakota Mines finished ahead of Colorado Mesa and right behind Black Hills State. Adams State took home first place, while Colorado School of Mines was second and Western Colorado collected third.
In the 6k, the Hardrocker women finished in 14
th place. They were guided by
Emily Jones, who ran a season-best 23:52.7 for 81
st place.
Lundi Ferrier ran a 24:14.78, while
Addison Smetana was right behind her with a 24:22.21.
Alana Howard and
Kat Tvrdy rounded out the top five for the Hardrockers.
The Hardrockers finished ahead of Westminster and behind Regis. Colorado School of Mines won the women's race. UCCS and Adams State collected second and third, respectively.
In a very competitive field, the Hardrockers recorded numerous career-bests to prepare for the Bauer Classic next week.
What's Next
The Hardrockers will compete in their only home meet of the season on Nov. 1 in the Bauer Classic. It is scheduled for Saturday morning at Hart Ranch. NCAA Regionals are on Nov. 8 in Pueblo, Colorado.
