RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines women's volleyball team is off to Utah for a pod weekend hosted by Westminster College. Along with the Griffins, the Hardrockers will also challenge CSU Pueblo Saturday in Salt Lake City.
The 'Rockers are fresh off a pod held this past Monday where they earned Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference wins over Colorado Christian (3-0) and Adams State (3-1). SDM is now 3-4 overall on the season and 3-3 in conference competition.
Looking at CSUP, the ThunderWolves enter the weekend 4-2 with a 2-1 record in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference play. With a 4-2 record, the Pack is off to its best start since 2012 when they started the season 6-0. The Pack is receiving votes in the American Volleyball Coaches Association poll for the fifth consecutive week. This is their longest streak appearing in the polls since 1997.
The Griffins enter the weekend with a 4-7 overall record and are 2-6 in the RMAC. Westminster split during a home pod, falling to Western Colorado, 3-2, before sweeping Chadron State, 3-0, last Sunday and Monday.
The Hardrockers will face the Griffins to open the pod Saturday morning in an 11 a.m. match and then take on CSU Pueblo at 2 p.m. No fans will be admitted to the pod but all the matches will be available on the Hardrocker Network by loggin onto
