STURGIS, SD – Joran Lamoreaux placed second at the 2025 Gage McSpadden Invite to guide the South Dakota Mines Men's Cross Country team to third place on Friday night.
Joran Lamoreaux guided South Dakota Mines with a 18:44.5 in the 6k, a new career best. He finished as the second-best runner at the meet behind Black Hills State's Gavin Kuhlenbeck.
Zach Hentschel recorded 13
th, while
Owen Johnson took 21
st and
Jackson Stafford rounded out the top 25 with a 25
th place finish.
The Hardrockers took third place out of the six teams at the meet. Black Hills State took first and Rocky Mountain earned second. Chadron State finished just behind the Hardrockers in fourth.
Addison Smetana placed 15
th on the women's side. She ran a 15:49.2, a new career-best in the 4k.
Lundi Ferrier and
Emily Jones recorded 23
rd and 24
th, respectively.
Overall, the women finished in sixth place at the meet.

The Hardrockers will go to the Roy Griak Invitational on Sept. 19 at the University of Minnesota.
