RAPID CITY, S.D. – The South Dakota Mines cross country team hosted a small meet at their home course of Hart Ranch in Rapid City.
Two institutions were represented at the meet with men's and women's teams from South Dakota Mines and Black Hills State.
Neither team brought their top runners, but South Dakota Mines had nearly 25 runners, and Black Hills State brought around ten competitors.
In the women's 6K,
Madalyn McQuistan was the top finisher for South Dakota Mines, running a time of 27:36.59 to finish in fourth place.
Teagan Wright,
Alyssa Blake and
Narria Neubert ran 29:31.61, 29:56.38 and 31:11.62 to finish in sixth, seventh and eighth.
On the men's side,
Zach Hentschel finished first as an unattached runner, finishing in 26:29.48.
Luke Suentjens (26:41.66),
Ty Brady (27:09.06),
Tanner Reinert (27:14.95),
Hunter Prather (27:33.59),
Preston Drew (27:38.64) and
Everett Sandbo (27:55.61) also finished in the top 10.
Up Next – South Dakota Mines will send their top men and women to compete in the South Central Regional Championships next weekend. That meet is scheduled for Nov. 9 in Denver.
