RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines Soccer team has announced the signing of 14 incoming freshmen with head coach
Ryan Thompson announcing the addition of Aidan Bolduc, Mateo Clagg, Colton Clay, Dominic Delka, Ryan Gaughan, Rider Grow, Brayden Hayes, Lucas Heiland, Trace Ho-Tran, Jonny Hoesch Jr., Will Mauritsen, Zach Peroff, Kaden Sullivan, and Parker Yocom, who are set to become Hardrockers next fall.
Aidan Bolduc, an Arvada, Colorado native joins the attackers as a forward. In 27 games over his junior and senior seasons, he recorded 13 goals along with 18 shots on goal.
Hailing from Westminster, Colorado is midfielder Mateo Clagg. He will solidify the middle of the field as an experienced athlete and team captain, playing 35 games in his three-year high school career at Wheat Ridge.
Colton Clay is a defender from Colorado Springs. He earned the captain's sleeve and played in 14 games in his senior season.
Hailing from Legacy High School, Dominic Delka joins as a midfielder with 36 matches of game experience through two varsity years. As a midfielder, Delka was still able to net four goals and five assists.
Local product Ryan Gaughan is from Rapid City and graduated from Rapid City Stevens. Gaughan was a team captain, team MVP and an All-State selection for a team that went 25-5-1 during his time, including being ranked 3rd in the state in 2021-22 and 1st in 2022-23.
Rider Grow comes from Colorado Springs where he attended the Air Academy. He was a four-sport athlete and played 18 games in his senior season as a defender, but still scored 3 goals and recorded 3 assists.
The lone goalkeeper of the class, Brayden Hayes joins the team from Bayport, Minnesota, and Stillwater Area High School. With Hayes in net, Stillwater was the Minnesota State Cup Champions and the Minnesota 4AAA Sectional Champions, advancing to the state tournament.
Another Minnesota native joins the fold as Lucas Heiland comes in from Chisago Lakes High School as a defender. During Heiland's career, he earned All-Conference and All-Conference Honorable Mention selections.
Trace Ho-Tran played in 42 games over four varsity seasons at Northglenn High School in Colorado, including a senior year in which he scored 16 goals and dished 4 assists. Overall, Ho-Tran scored 29 goals and dished 8 assists. Ho-Tran earned All-Conference and All-State selections during his career.
Jonny Hoesch Jr. comes from Lincoln, Nebraska where he was a graduate of Lincoln East High School. Hoesch also plays club for Sporting Nebraska.
Will Mauritsen, a forward from Belgrade, Montana comes in as an explosive scorer in high school. At Belgrade, Mauritsen earned All-Conference, team MVP, and the Golden Boot (most goals).
Zach Peroff, a 6'2" defender joins the program from San Diego, California. Peroff was a team captain and the Team MVP at Motivated Youth Academy.
Kaden Sullivan, a second Rapid City product attended Rapid City Central. He joins as a defender who played in a total of 16 varsity matches over two years. He completed 213 passes and had 158 defensive recoveries or steals.
The final addition to the class is Parker Yocom who hails from Haslet, Texas. Joining as an attacker. Yocom was a dual-sport athlete, also participating in football. Yocom earned All-Conference, All-Conference Honorable Mention, and 2022 Texas 5A Utility Player of the Year in addition to being a team captain and named team MVP.
The South Dakota Mines soccer team opens up play on Sept. 1 and their first home match is scheduled for Sept. 3 at Dakota Fields. All home games are free to attend.
