RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Soccer kicks off the 2026 season at Jamestown to take on Morningside and the Jimmies on Saturday and Monday.
Series History
The Rockers are 1-0 all-time against Morningside, with the lone win coming on Aug. 26, 2018. South Dakota Mines won that game 4-1 in Rapid City.
Against Jamestown, the Hardrockers are 1-1 all time. They defeated Jamestown 4-1 last season at Dakota Fields.
Parker Yocom had two goals in that game, while
Nickolas North and
Alvin Udoto both recorded one.
About the Mustangs
Morningside comes into this game 0-1-2. They lost to William Penn, while drawing both Grand View and Jamestown. The Mustangs went 12-7-2 last season and made it to the GPAC Tournament Championship before falling to Concordia.
About the Jimmies
Jamestown opened their season with a 0-0 draw against Morningside on Thursday. In their first season as an NCAA DII member, the Jimmies went 3-9 in 2025. They will join the GMAC as an affiliate member in 2027.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines is coming off their best season in program history, going 7-7-3 overall. On Sept. 14, 2025, they drew at Air Force which carried momentum to three straight wins. They also defeated #11 CSU Pueblo, their first ranked win in program history.
North totaled 12 goals to break the single season goals record. He recorded 26 points, 29 shots and 16 shots on goal.
Erik Castanon collected five goals, while
Parker Yocom had four.
Abdo Salem Abdullah had a 1.75 GAA with a .632 save percentage in eight games played.

The Rockers will go to Pierre to take on Mount Marty on Sept. 4. They open Dakota Fields on Sept. 10 against Rocky Mountain.
