JAMESTOWN, N.D. – South Dakota Mines Soccer opened the 2026 season with a 3-0 shutout victory over Morningside at Charlotte & Gordon Hansen Stadium.
To start the game,
Nickolas North had a shot on goal at the 1:18 mark that was saved. On a corner kick,
Lucas Miranda scored from
Parker Yocom. It was Miranda's first goal in his first collegiate game.
Shon West was saved in the 25
th minute of the game. The Hardrockers closed out the first half with three shots in the last six minutes.
Abdo Salem Abudllah made three saves in the half for the Rockers.
Miranda put another one on target early in the second half but was saved. In the 55
th minute, Miranda scored his second goal of the game. North picked up the assist on the goal.
Five minutes later, Abdullah saved his fourth shot faced.
Zach Peroff made the score 3-0 in the 76
th minute with an assist from
Shon West.
In total, the Rockers picked up 11 shots and seven shots on goal. Abdullah made four saves, while West and
Kaulden Hood recorded two shots.
What's Next
South Dakota Mines is back in action on Monday to take on Jamestown at 12 p.m. CT. They will play Mounty Marty on Friday at 3 p.m. CT in Pierre.
