COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball saw three student-athletes named to postseason All-RMAC teams, highlighted by
Addison Miranda's RMAC Freshman of the Year award, the first for any player in program history.
Addison Miranda, a freshman guard out of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, was had a great season beyond the arc for the Hardrockers. She ended the season 34.7% from three-point range, the sixth-best mark in the RMAC. Her 2.4 three-pointers per game ranked third in the conference, while her 67 three-point shots made was fourth. Miranda led all RMAC freshmen with 9.3 points per game.
Miranda became the first Hardrocker to win the Freshman of the Year award in the RMAC era. The last award winner was Jerika Ihnen in the 2007-08 season while South Dakota Mines was in the Dakota Athletic Conference in the NAIA. Ihnen went on to score 1,245 points in her four-year career for the Hardrockers.
Forward
Savea Mansfield, a senior from Washougal, Washington, received Second Team All-RMAC honors. She tallied 15.8 points per game, the ninth-best mark in the RMAC, and 5.1 rebounds per game for the Rockers. Mansfield led the Hardrocker offense with 154 field goals made. Her 50.5 field goal percentage ranked fourth in the RMAC. Mansfield eclipsed both 1,000 points and 500 rebounds in her career. Mansfield received Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors last season. She became the ninth Hardrocker in the NCAA DII era to earn a spot on the first or second team.
Finally,
Morning Grace Spotted Bear, a redshirt junior out of Billings, Montana, picked up Honorable Mention All-RMAC honors. Spotted Bear led South Dakota Mines with 192 total rebounds and 6.9 rebounds per game. She also averaged 12.4 points per game with 140 field goals made. She put up six double-doubles this season, including a 21 point and 11 rebound performance at MSU Denver on Jan. 8. Spotted Bear ended her Hardrocker career with 889 points and 598 rebounds.
Colorado Mesa's Olivia Reed Thyne was named the RMAC Player of the Year for the third time. Elaina Watson from Adams State picked up Defensive Player of the Year, and Colorado Mesa coach rounded out the award winners with the Coach of the Year award.
What's Next
RMAC academic awards will be announced later this month, followed by D2CCA All-Region awards and the CSC Academic All-America award.
