RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball concluded the 2025-26 season with a 44-70 loss to Western Colorado on Saturday afternoon.
The Mountaineers dominated the first quarter, outscoring the Hardrockers 20-7. With a Rockers 2-0 lead, the Mountaineers went on a 16-2 run to go up 16-4 with 1:27 left.
Addison Miranda made a three-pointer to make it a nine-point game. Western Colorado led 20-7 after the first 10 minutes.
Western Colorado led 36-20 at halftime after outscoring the Rockers 16-13 in the second quarter. A 7-0 Hardrocker run in the middle of the quarter made the score 16-25. The Mountaineers responded with a 7-0 of their own at the end of the quarter to extend their lead to 16 points at halftime.
In the third, the Mountaineers held the Rockers to 14 points while putting up 19 points of their own. They took a 49-25 lead midway through the quarter to extend their biggest lead of the game.
Savea Mansfield recorded two layups at the end of the quarter to make the score 34-55. The Hardrockers fell 44-70 after they were outscored 15-10 in the fourth quarter.
Mansfield totaled 14 points on 6-for-11 field goal shooting.
Morning Grace Spotted Bear put up eight points, seven rebounds, three assists, two blocks and two steals for the Hardrockers.
The Rockers shot 33.9% from the field against the Mountaineers. They totaled 32 points in the paint and 15 bench points.
South Dakota Mines honored six seniors on Saturday afternoon. Mansfield, Spotted Bear,
Emma Martin,
Alexis Backhaus,
Lauren Herman and
Megan Alexander were all honored for their dedication to the Hardrockers.

All-RMAC teams will be announced in March, followed by the Academic All-RMAC awards and CSC Academic All-America awards.
