RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Women's Basketball and head coach
Kyley Bachand has announced the hiring of former student-athlete
Emma Martin as an assistant coach.
Martin joins the Hardrocker staff after a six-year stint as a student-athlete. She played in 573 minutes and 28 total games for the Hardrockers last season. She also played for South Dakota Mines during the 2024-25 season.
"We are so excited to add Emma to our staff," head coach
Kyley Bachand said. "She brought a lot as a player to our program. She has a love for the game that is hard to find and will be a great role model for our future Hardrockers."
Before her time in Rapid City, Martin played at Pittsburg State, an NCAA DII institution in the MIAA. With the Gorillas, she earned two NCAA DII Tournament berths and an MIAA championship over four seasons.
Martin is originally from Mountain Home, Arkansas, and earned a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering & engineering management at South Dakota Mines.
