RAPID CITY, SD – South Dakota Mines Cross Country is back in action on Friday at the Gage McSpadden Memorial Invite, hosted by Black Hills State.
The meet starts on Friday night at 6 p.m. at the Fort Meade Recreation Area in Sturgis, SD. South Dakota Mines joins Black Hills State, Carleton, Central Wyoming, Chadron State, Montana State-Billings and Rocky Mountain as the competitors.
The Hardrocker men posted a 10
th place finish at the RMAC Championships last season, while the women recorded ninth.
At the Gage McSpadden Memorial Invite in 2024, the men picked up second place overall.
Tristan Enders ran a 19:09.0 to place fifth overall, while
Joran Lamoreaux collected 11
th. Both runners are back for the Hardrockers this season. On the women's side, South Dakota Mines recorded third place.
Clare Fischer was sixth overall in the meet with her time of 15:14.4. The New Ulm, Minnesota, native returns for her senior season in 2025.
In the RMAC Preseason Poll's Men's Cross Country was picked to finish in 12
th place, while the women were one spot above in 11
th. Defending national champions Colorado School of Mines (Men) and Adams State (Women) were both picked to win the RMAC this season.
Head coach
Joe Stephens is back for his fourth year with South Dakota Mines. He is joined again by
Cameron Fullerton and by new assistant coach Kiran Green.
