MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. – South Dakota Mines had a strong outing at the Roy Griak Invitational on Friday morning at the Les Bolstad Course.
The men's team began the day with the Jo Rider Maroon Race at 11:30 a.m. CT.
Joran Lamoreaux ran a 26:42.2 in the 8k to place fifth out of 273 total runners. He was .5 seconds off fourth place.
Zach Hentschel placed 18
th overall with his 27:08.7, while
Tristan Enders ran a 27:32.1 to finish in 33
rd.
Tanner Reinert recorded 55
th and
Jackson Parrill rounded out the top five with his 58
th place finish. That guided the Hardrockers to fourth place, just behind #27 Michigan Tech, Minnesota State and #18 Dordt. They finished just ahead of MSU-Morehead.
On the women's side, the women's team finished in 12
th place in the Suzy Wilson Maroon Race.
Lundi Ferrier highlighted for the Hardrockers with her 25:22.3 in her first 6k of her collegiate career. She picked up 73
rd out of 266 runners.
Addison Smetana finished right behind her at 77
th with a 25:29.0.
Emily Jones recorded 88
th with her 25:39.6.
Alana Howard collected 88
th and
Kat Tvrdy was behind her to guide the Hardrockers to 12
th place in the 6k.
The Hardrocker men have finished in the top four in both invites so far this season. The women improved at the Roy Griak Invitational with their 12
th place finish.
What's Next
South Dakota Mines has one meet left until the RMAC Championship. They will go to the Yellowjacket/Battlin' Bears Open on Oct. 10 in Billings, Montana. The RMAC Championship is scheduled for Oct. 25 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
