RAPID CITY, SD (July 30 , 2025) – South Dakota Mines men's golfer Tyler White earned a spot on the Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar list for 2025-25.

On Tuesday, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced the scholars for all divisions.

To be eligible for Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar nomination, an individual must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, and NAIA, or receiving their associate's degree and in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. In addition, they must participate in 50% of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 78.0 in NCAA Division II, and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at their college or university.

More than 200 NCAA Division II athletes from 78 schools earned 2024-25 Cobalt All-America Scholar honors. A full list can be found here.

In 20 rounds of play, White, a junior majoring in metallurgical engineering from Morrison, Colo., recorded an average score of 77.1, with his top round of 71 coming at the Yellowjacket Fall Invite.

"Tyler exemplifies what it means to be a Hardrocker—an excellent student and a committed athlete. Being named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar is a well-earned recognition of the hard work he puts in both on the course and in the classroom," said Luke Wheeler, director of golf.
