COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. – On Tuesday afternoon, the RMAC selected and announced its player of the week selections for soccer.
For the second time since 2017 and now in back-to-back years, a soccer player for South Dakota Mines was selected, with
Daniel Freitas named RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week.
It is the first time a Hardrocker has earned RMAC Goalkeeper of the Week and just the third time for any RMAC Player of the Week award from the soccer team.
Freitas was great in both contests this weekend, but especially against Colorado Mesa. He faced 26 shots, 12 of which were on goal, and stood on his head to turn away 11 of them.
In total, Freitas made 13 saves over the weekend, allowing just two goals in the Hardrockers' 1-0-1 weekend to open RMAC play.
The full story from the RMAC is attached above.
The Hardrockers continue RMAC play this weekend on the road when they take on Fort Lewis on Friday and Adams State on Sunday.
