BILLINGS, Mont. --- The South Dakota Mines soccer team traveled to Billings, Montana to take on MSU Billings for a Friday night showdown.
MSU Billings is a team that has certainly had the Hardrockers number of late, outscoring them by a significant margin in the last feeww matchups. Despite the Hardrockers not reversing the tide, they fought and fell 2-1 in their season opener.
MSU Billings put early pressure on the Hardrockers, scoring a goal at 24:58 of the leg of Ty Vohland and would add another at 37:34 to take a two-goal lead at halftime.
Early in the second half, South Dakota Mines scored off
Parker Yocoms first collegiate goal in his first collegiate game.
Will Mauritsen got credit with an assist. The Hardrockers would battle throughout the remainder of the half but were unable to find an equalizer.
