RAPID CITY, SD – South Dakota Mines Soccer dominated Trinity Bible 10-0 to stay undefeated through five matches.
The Hardrockers scored 10 goals in the match, the most in program history and the most goals scored by an RMAC team this season.
Dominic Delka started the scoring in the 11
th minute on a ball from
Erik Castanon. Not even a minute later, Castanon scored an unassisted goal, his third of the season. In the middle of the half,
Mateo Clagg set up
Kaulden Hood for a goal.
Rawley Ford made it 4-0 with a goal. He scored another one in the 30
th minute to make it 5-0.
John Murray picked up the assist on Ford's second goal.
South Dakota Mines dominated in the first half with 18 total shots to zero for the Lions. They also recorded 13 corner kicks.
In the second half,
Zander Cleland made it 6-0 right away with his first collegiate goal.
Chase Stohlmann picked up a goal in the 48
th minute, assisted by
Stone Rubeck. In the 49
th minute, Stohlmann passed one to
Abhel Cortez-Soto to give him a goal and make the score 8-0. Stohlmann scored another one in the 70
th minute and
Ceallach Heslin finalized the score with a goal in the 79
th minute.
The Hardrockers totaled 38 shots and 21 shots on goal, while they held the Lions to one shot. Stohlmann recorded five points with his two goals and one assist. He led the team with his five shots and three shots on goal.
Tyler Wachholtz also had five shots. Ford scored two goals in this game, while Hood, Delka, Castanon, Heslin, Cortez-Soto and Cleland all picked up goals.
South Dakota Mines made a lot of history in this match. Their 10 goals is the most in the RMAC this season and the most in program history. The 21 goals scored this season is the most in a season since 2017. That team scored 24 goals during the season.
With a 3-0-2 record, the Hardrockers are off to their best start to a season in program history. They broke the 2-0-2 start the 2017 team started with.

South Dakota Mines will go to Adams State on Sept. 26 at 12:30 p.m. for a non-conference matchup. They return home on Sept. 28 for their last non-conference game of the year against Colorado Mesa.
