Women's Basketball Heads to Chadron for Tuesday Afternoon Matchup

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team will travel the short distance to face Chadron State on Tuesday. The Hardrockers are coming off a home split last weekend when they faced Adams State and Fort Lewis. On senior night, the Hardrockers defeated Fort Lewis 93-73.

  • Since 2009, South Dakota Mines has a 14-4 advantage in the series.
  • From 2019-2021, the Hardrocker won six straight in the series.

  • Piper Bauer is the leading offensive option for the Hardrocker, averaging 14.2 points per game (8th RMAC).
  • Sydnee Durtsche is averaging 7.5 rebounds per game, a number that is 6th in the RMAC.
  • This past weekend was one of the best of the season for the Hardrockers as they took a good Adams State team to overtime and then won comfortably over Fort Lewis on senior night, scoring a combined 165 points in the two contests.

  • They have struggled on both sides of the court as they are 14th in scoring and 15th in opponent scoring.
  • In rebounding, they have seen some success as they sit in the top half of the league in rebounds per game.
  • Ashayla Powers is third in the conference with 16.8 points per game.
  • Kadyn Comer leads the Eagles in assists per game with 2.2.
