RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota Mines women's basketball team will close out the home portion of their schedule this weekend when they host Adams State and Fort Lewis on Friday and Saturday. The Hardrockers play the Grizzlies on Friday at 5:30 PM and the Skyhawks on Saturday at 4:00 PM.
Series History
vs. Adams State
	- In the previous eight matchups, the Hardrockers were winners of the first six, but Adams State has won two straight.
- At home, the Hardrockers have a 3-1 advantage in the series.
- When the two teams met earlier this season, Adams State emerged victorious.
- Earlier in the season when they met, the Hardrockers were led by Piper Bauer scoring 20. She was joined in double figures by Sydnee Durtsche (12) and Madelyn Heiser (10).
vs. Fort Lewis
	- These two teams have met 8 times since 2016, with Fort Lewis coming out victorious in five of the matchups.
- The Hardrockers have performed well of late, however, winning 2 of the last 3, including a victory via forfeit in 2021 due to COVID-19 issues within the Fort Lewis program.
- In the earlier matchup this season the Skyhawks emerged with the victory by a score of 77-67.
- Piper Bauer led the way in the earlier matchup, scoring a game-high 28 points.
Gold Nuggets
	- Shooting from three-point range has been one of the Hardrockers' strengths this season, as they hit 31.9% from there for the 6th-best mark in the RMAC.
- Rebounding is another area that South Dakota Mines has seen some success as they average 36.9 total rebounds per game (7th RMAC).
- Offensive rebounding is even stronger as the 'Rockers sit in fifth in the league, averaging 12 per game.
- They also do a decent job limiting opponent rebounds, sitting in 7th in opponent rebounds per game, and in rebounding margin.  
- Sydnee Durtsche has been a big part of the rebounding success as she averages 7.1 per game for the season and 7.6 in conference play.
- Piper Bauer has made the most three-pointers in the conference with 75 and an average of 3.1 per game. Her percentage has slowly ticked up as she is now hitting 38.1% in RMAC play.
Scouting Report
Adams State
	- The Grizzlies are fourth in the RMAC, with a 13-5 conference record and a 17-7 overall record.
- Adams State has a dangerous offensive attack as they lead the conference in scoring, averaging 74.2 points per game.
- They are also in the to-half of the RMAC in points allowed per game, leading them to outscore opponents by 10.8 points per game, 2nd in the RMAC.
- Three-point shooting is a strong suit of theirs as they hit 31.9% of their attempts from long distance, 6th in the RMAC.
- Harmanie Dominquez is the Grizzlies leading scorer with 12.6 points per game.
Fort Lewis
	- The Skyhawks are 6-11 in the conference which puts them in 11th place. Their overall record is 9-14.
- Offensively, they shoot the ball well, sitting in the top half of the conference, hitting 39% of their shots from the field and third in three-point percentage at 32.6%.
- Lanae Billy is one of the best scorers in the conference, averaging 17 points per game, the second most in the conference.
- Kelsey Sorenson is also a force, averaging 14.4 points per game and 7.7 rebounds per game. Both are 7th best in the RMAC.
