LUBBOCK, Texas --- The South Dakota Mines Cross Country teams competed in the South Central Regional Championships in Lubbock, Texas and came away with a good finish and continued progress on the season.
The Women's team took a 12th place finish to come in the top half of the 26-team field.
The women were led by Clare Fisher finishing just outside of the top 50, coming in 54th with a time of 22:18.22. Not too far behind her was
Allyson Heiden in 64th, finishing the race in 22:50.15.
Abbie Saline (86th, 23:24.51) and
Alana Howard (97th, 23:40.74) also came in the top-100 in a field packed with 173 individuals.
Adeline Wilson (106th, 24:01.90),
Lillian Knudtson (129th, 24:56.89), and
Katie Magni (157th, 26:26.88) rounded out the team for the Hardrockers, finishing with 404 points.
The Men scored 452 points for a 17th place finish in the 25-team field.
Brett Flerchinger was the top male finisher, placing 73rd with a time of 32:31.59.
Tristan Enders (87th, 32:50.09),
Zach Hentschel (90th, 32:54.59), and
Joran Lamoreaux (98th, 33:07.49) all finished in the top-100.
Owen Hansmann (104th, 33:14.61),
Owen Wagner (121st, 33:59.84), and
Tyler Captain (133rd, 34:44.09) rounded out the squad.
