BILLINGS, Mont. --- The South Dakota Mines Cross Country teams raced at the MSU Billings Yellowjacket Open on Friday and as they have done all year, posted great results.
The Men posted a first-place finish, while the women finished in second.
The men's team finished with a score of 79, besting 12 other teams with most of them being Division II opponents.
Tyler Captain led the way for the men, finishing in sixth with a time of 24:59.9.
Brett Flerchinger finished 15th, running a time of 25:21.7.
Owen Wagner (19th, 25:31.3),
Tristan Enders (21st, 25:33.7),
Owen Hansmann (22nd, 25:35.8),
Joran Lamoreaux (29th, 25:45.6), and
Zach Hentschel (32nd, 25:49.1) were the seven scoring times for the men, while
Cole Tatro (25:52.6),
Jackson Parrill (26:17.3), and
Justin Quammen (26:18.1) also finished in the top-50 in the 106 individual field.
Also among 12 teams, the Hardrocker women finished with 81 points and a second-place finish.
Clare Fischer ran a time of 21:54.4 to place fifth, while
Allyson Heiden finished ninth with a 22:25.8. Also running scoring times were
Abbie Saline (14th, 22:49.0),
Alana Howard (25th, 23:21.6),
Adeline Wilson (40th, 23:56.8),
Lillian Knudtson (52nd, 24:32.0), and
Katie Magni (57th, 24:43.5).
