RAPID CITY, S.D. --- South Dakota Mines and Chadron State met up in a thilling match on Saturday evening that went the distance for a full 5-sets.
 
The first set went the Hardrockers way as they started off with a ton of momentum thanks to kills by 
Morgan Daugherty, 
Jacey Koethe, 
Lily Bartling and an ace by 
Katie Angel getting the Hardrockers to a 5-0 lead. South Dakota Mines would go on another five-point run later in the set and would eventually close out the set with a 25-20 victory.
 
The Eagles from Chadron State would control much of the play in the second set and take the set 25-19 and the third set 25-22.
 
The fourth would be a battle between the two teams but runs of 5-0 and 3-0 (twice) would send the match to a fifth set with the Hardrockers taking it 25-22.
 
The fifth set was a back-and-forth affair at the beginning until Chadron State scored four straight points to take a 12-7 lead and would go on to win the set 15-8 and the match 3-2.
 
Notes – Jacey Koeth continues to show that she is one of the better middles in the RMAC as she had a career high with 22 kills and four blocks…
Dejah Behrend had a hitting percentage of .417 and a career-high 19 kills…
Kassie Luce and 
Kiley Metzger were effective setters, recording 31 and 23 assists…
Anna Thomas led the team with 27 digs…Joining Thomas in double-digits were true freshman, 
Hannah Benes and 
Paisley Gibson with 12 and 11.
