Women's Basketball Team Heads to Pueblo to End the Week

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The Hardrocker Women's Basketball team closes out the week with a game on the road in Pueblo as they take on the Thunderwolves from CSU Pueblo on Saturday for a 2:00 matchup.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

1. South Dakota Mines has played well of late after struggling to start the season. After playing close contests against Wayne State, Regis, CCU, Western Colorado, they were finally able to break through getting the victory against Fort Lewis in the last time out.
2. South Dakota Mines has shot the three ball well thus far, shooting 31.3% to sit as fifth best in the conference.
3. The Hardrockers have also done a good job in protecting the rim as they lead the conference with 3.38 blocked shots per game.
4. In the victory over Fort Lewis, the Hardrockers won several stat categories including rebounding, turnovers, and bench points.
5. The return of Madelyn Heiser and Melissa Johnstone have made a huge difference for the Hardrockers. Heiser had been out since early november before being available in the first two games in 2022, and Johnstone played in her first game of the season on 1/2/22 against Western Colorado. The pair has combined for 48 points and 24 rebounds in their two games since returning.
