LUBBOCK, Texas --- The South Dakota Mines cross country team competed at the South Central Regional meet today. The women finished in 20^th place while the men placed 11^th.
 
The women scored 520 points; Adams State won the event with 30 points. On the men's side, the Rockers scored 339 points. Colorado Mines won the meet with 42 points.
 
"Both teams checked off a lot of goals today", said head coach Steve Johnson. "The women's goal was to finish in the top 20 and they ran hard to accomplish that today."
 
Abigaile Saline paced the Rockers with a time of 23:12.60. Alyssa Franke ran 23:25.60, Ryley Darnell was next with a 24:05.80 time. Next was Allyson Heiden with a time of 24:90.11 and Margaret Thompson ran a time of 24:32.70. Adeline Wilson finished with a time of 24:46.30 and rounding out the team was Lillian Knudtson with a time of 24:54.60.
 
The men were led by Tim Dunham with a time of 31:38.70. Ryan Moen was next with a time of 32:09.89. Brett Flerchinger finished with a time of 32:18.61. Next was Tyler Captain with a 32:52.08 time. Owen Wagner ran a 32:57.68 and Owen Hansmann finished with a 33:48.16. Zach Hentschel rounded out the Rockers with a 34:09.46.
 
"The men's side was a real nail-bitter," said Johnson. "We were disappointed to miss out on a top 10 finish but are excited to have the best finish in school history."
