New Athletic Trainer Joins Hardrocker Staff

RAPID CITY, S.D. --- The South Dakota School of Mines Sports Medicine Department is pleased to announce the hiring of Emily Lawrence as an assistant athletic trainer.

Lawrence comes to SD Mines from Northern Michigan University where she was an assistant athletic trainer. At Northern Michigan, she was the primary athletic trainer for men's soccer and women's lacrosse. She will be returning to her home state as she is originally from Watertown, South Dakota.

Lawrence received her Bachelors of Science in Education and Human Services from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2014. She went on to complete her Masters of Science in Fitness Management from Missouri Baptist University in 2016. She was a graduate assistant athletic trainer while at Missouri Baptist where she worked with both football and softball.

"I am excited to be back in my home state of South Dakota.  I am looking forward to being a part of the sports medicine staff and helping the student-athletes succeed in their sport in a safe and positive manner," Lawrence said.
