GOLDEN, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Soccer made history on Friday night, beating Colorado School of Mines 3-2 for the first time in program history.
It was all Orediggers in the first half. South Dakota Mines did get their chances, putting up five shots in the first 30 minutes. However, the Orediggers took a 1-0 lead with a goal in the 32
nd minute.
To start the second half, Colorado School of Mines scored in the 47
th minute to take a 2-0 lead.

Nickolas North for a goal in the 52
nd minute to cut the lead in half.
The Hardrockers kept the pressure and added another goal in the 63
rd minute to tie the game. West picked up his NCAA-leading seventh assist to give Grow his first goal of the season.
Almost 20 minutes later, the Hardrockers took a 3-2 lead. Following a

Kaulden Hood collected the ball and passed to
Even Henriksen who made the score 3-2. The Hardrockers held on to win 3-2 after holding the Orediggers out of the net down the stretch.
North totaled five shots, three shots on goal and one goal for the Rockers.
Lucas Miranda recorded four shots and Arteaga had two. South Dakota Mines picked up 19 shots and nine shots on goal against the Orediggers.
After coming into the game in the 18
th minute,
Claudio Otto recorded five saves against the Orediggers to pick up his first win of the season.
South Dakota Mines recorded their first win against Colorado School of Mines in program history. Before this win, the Rockers were 0-12 against the Orediggers dating back to 2015.
What's Next
The Hardrockers will close out non-conference play against Adams State at Dakota Fields on Sunday at 1 p.m. The Rockers will open the RMAC slate with Colorado School of Mines at home on Sept. 25 at 3 p.m.
