COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field recorded six All-RMAC honorees, with three student-athletes on the first team and three on the second team.
Augustus Fink was named to the first team after picking up third place at the RMAC Championships. His throw of 59.46m was an NCAA DII provisional mark. Fink ended his season throwing a career-best 60.65m hammer at the Concorida Twilight, .01m off the school record held by Brian Freed.
After earning third place at the RMAC Championships,
Everett Gilbert was named to the All-RMAC First Team. His 2.00m high jump gave him his second medal of the season after winning the high jump in the RMAC Indoor Championships.
Merek Ranstrom rounded out the All-RMAC First Team after winning the 400h and earning second in the 110h. His career-best 51.98 in the 400h gave him first place, while his 14.26 in the 110h placed him in second. Ranstrom ran a career-best 14.17 in the 110h event at the Concordia Twilight.
Isaac Haynie was named to the All-RMAC Second Team in both the 110h and 400h events. He earned fourth place in both events, running a career-best 52.77 in the 400h and a 14.81 in the 110h.
On the throws side,
Morgan Sandal earned All-RMAC Second Team honors in the javelin throw. Sandal's career-best 59.29m throw at the RMAC Championships placed him in fourth place overall.
Isaiah Thurman closed out his six-year career with All-RMAC Second Team honors. In the hammer throw, Thurman collected a 58.84m mark to place in fourth. His career best came earlier this season at the Bauer Open, throwing a 58.92m hammer.
