FORT COLLINS, Colo. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field saw an NCAA DII provisional mark at the Jack Christiansen Invitational at Colorado State on Saturday.
Augustus Fink highlighted for the Hardrockers with a 57.55m weight throw mark for an NCAA DII provisional mark. That throw gave him a career best and fourth place out of 18 throwers.
Morgan Sandal recorded fourth place in the javelin throw with a 52.44m mark. In the pole vault,
Zachary Vanicek picked up a 4.80m vault, a new career-best and third place in the event.
Everett Gilbert's 2.02m high jump put him in second place.
The Hardrockers 4x400 relay of
Lane Thomas,
Alexander Pygott,
Jackson Stafford and
Merek Ranstrom ran a 3.20.53 to pick up second place. Ranstrom's 14.33 in the 110H placed him in fifth and marked a new career best.
Owen Johnson ran a 4:01.62 in the 1500m event to collect fourth.
John Strabala won the 800m event with a career-best time of 1:54.19.
Adisyn Schecnk highlighted for the women's team with third place in the javelin throw with her 38.13m throw.
Reese Terwilliger picked up a career-best 12.88m throw in the shot put for eighth place.
In the 5000m event,
Addison Smetana recorded fifth place with her run of 19:20.79.
Emily Jones' career-best 2:21.41 in the 800m to place fourth.
What's Next
The Hardrockers are scheduled to host the Grubby's Easter Classic on Apr. 3 at O'Harra Stadium. The Bauer Open is slated for Apr. 17 in Rapid City.
