CHADRON, Neb. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field saw numerous first place performances and two NCAA DII provisional marks at the Chadron State "Con Marshall" Early Bird on Friday.
Isaiah Thurman highlighted the Hardrockers with a 58.12m mark in the hammer throw, a new personal best and an NCAA DII provisional mark.
Augustus Fink took second in the event with a career-best 57.01m throw. He also took fourth in the discus with his 43.00m mark.
Morgan Sandal won the javelin throw after picking up a 54.93m throw.
Kane Aberle was .01m off a career-best in the shot put with a 15.09m throw for second place.
In the pole vault event,
Zachary Vanicek recorded a 4.60m jump for first place. The 4x400 relay of
Brian Keairnes,
Jackson Stafford,
Alexander Pygott and
Lane Thomas recorded first place.
In the 400 hurdles, Merek Ranstorm picked up an NCAA DII provisional mark with his time of 52.84.
Joran Lamoreaux won the 10,000m event with his 32:06.07.
John Strabala collected a career-best 3:59.95 in the 1500m for first place.
Sawyer Rueckert ran a 1:57.52 in the 800m to win the event.
Noah Feldt's 10.82 in the 100m gave him second place.
On the women's side, the Hardrockers recorded numerous first place finishes.
Grace Pridgeon ran a career-best 1:03.93 in the 400m event.
Emily Jones won the 1500m event with a 5:07.44 mark.
Addison Smetana's recorded first in the 5000m after she ran a 19:46.07.
Emma Moody recorded first in the 400 hurdles with her 1:08.52.
Emily Novak's 5.25m mark in the long jump placed her in first place.
Reese Terwilliger's 12.82m shot put gave her second place. She also recorded sixth in the discus with a 34.81m throw.

South Dakota Mines is back in action from Mar. 27-28 at the Chuck Haering Invitational in Pueblo, Colorado. The Hardrockers will host the Grubby's Easter Classic on Apr. 3.
