VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. – Augustus Fink took home ninth place in the weight throw at the NCAA Indoor Championships and earned Second Team All-America honors.
Augustus Fink, a sophomore out of Three Lakes, Wisconsin, qualified for the NCAA Championships after he hit a provisional mark at the SDSU Indoor Classic.
After Fink's second throw of 19.02m, he threw his third at 20.17m. That ended up being his longest throw of the day to place in ninth out of 18 throwers. Ben Haas of Hillsdale won the weight throw, followed by Levi Graham at Lewis and Dom Scharer at Hillsdale.
Pittsburg State won both the Men's and Women's Indoor Track & Field championships. On the men's side, Grand Valley State recorded second and Wingate picked up third. West Texas A&M collected second and Adams State took third for the women.
What's Next
The Outdoor Track & Field season begins on Mar. 20 at the Chadron State "Con Marshall" Early Bird. The Hardrockers will travel to the Chuck Haering Invitational from Mar. 27-28.
