COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Augustus Fink of South Dakota Mines Track & Field has been named the RMAC Men's Field Athlete of the Week after putting up a NCAA DII provisional mark and a career-best at the Myrle Hansen Open.
At the Myrle Hansen Open on Saturday at Black Hills State,
Augustus Fink won the weight throw with an NCAA DII provisional mark of 19.35m. He won the event by 2.98m and with 10 other throwers.
Fink placed third in the shot put out of 10 total throwers. His throw of 14.65m was a new career best.
His weight throw mark of 20.34m at the SDSU Indoor Classic ranks second in the RMAC and 12
th in NCAA DII heading into the RMAC Championships this weekend.
What's Next
The Hardrockers go to Gunnison, Colorado, for the RMAC Indoor Championships this weekend from Feb. 27-28. The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for Mar. 13-14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
