SPEARFISH, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field completed their final tune up of the indoor season at the Myrle Hansen Open on Saturday.
Everett Gilbert highlighted for the Hardrockers with a career-best 2.06 for an NCAA DII provisional mark and first place.
Weston Pierce also recorded first place, jumping a career-best 13.69 in the triple jump. For the throwers,
Cooper Stevens won the shot put with 15.30m mark, while
Augustus Fink hit another NCAA DII provisional mark, throwing a 19.35m in the weight throw. Fink also placed third in the shot put.
Isaiah Thurman picked up second in the weight throw for the Rockers, recording a career-high 16.37m throw.
Zachary Vanicek's 4.55m mark in the pole vault gave him second place.
Peyton Cast's 8:59.00 in the 3000m marked a season best and second place.
Noah Feldt recorded third in the 60m and Sawyer Reuckert collected third in the 800m.
Michael Thompson's 1.90m mark in the high jump put him in third place.
Emma Moody took home fourth place in the 60h event for the women, running a career-best 10.16.
Oluwanifemi Bankole's 5.00m jump in the long jump was a season-best and placed her in sixth. She also recorded second in the triple jump with a 9.59m mark.
Lundi Ferrier ran a 11:09.54 to place sixth in the 3000m event.
What's Next
The Hardrockers will go to the RMAC Championships next weekend from Feb. 27-28 in Gunnison, Colorado. The NCAA Indoor Championships are scheduled for Mar. 13-14 in Virginia Beach, Virginia.
