Track & Field in Spearfish for Final Tuneup before RMAC Championships

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field will compete at their final meet before the RMAC Championships at the Myrle Hansen Open at Black Hills State on Saturday.

At the SDSU Indoor Classic last weekend, the Hardrockers saw two school records on the men's side. Augustus Fink broke the weight throw record, throwing a 20.34m mark. That throw was the 11th best in NCAA DII and second-best in the RMAC this season. Owen Johnson's 4:17.54 in the mile was a new South Dakota Mines record.

Emily Jones recorded two career bests last weekend in the mile and 800m events. Adisyn Schenck threw a 12.14m in the shot put for 19th place out of 45 throwers.

Earlier this season at the Dave Little Alumni Mile Open in Spearfish, the Hardrocker men's team took first place out of seven teams. The women's team recorded fifth place at the meet.
