GOLDEN, Colo. & CHADRON, Neb. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field picked up numerous career-bests and a school record over the weekend.
The Hardrockers were split between the Mines Winter Classic at Colorado School of Mines and the Don Holst Open at Chadron State.
Three Hardrockers competed in the heptathlon at the Mines Winter Classic.
Logan Haynie hit an NCAA DII provisional mark and broke a school record with 4,954 points in the event. That put him in third place out of nine competitors.
At the Don Holst Open, both teams recorded third place. In the men's 800-meter event,
Zach Hentschel picked up first place with a career-best 2:00.85.
Eelan Nevel ran a 2:01.66 for second place. In the mile,
Joran Lamoreaux's 4:28.33 placed him in second.
Dylan Regan recorded a 1.80m in the high jump for second place.
Cooper Stevens won the shot put, throwing a 14.83m, the best distance out of 12 throwers.
Augustus Fink picked up first in the weight throw with his mark of 18.06m.
On the women's side,
Emily Hubmer's career-best 10.25 in the 60 hurdles placed her in fourth place.
Adisyn Schenck picked up second place in the shot put with her mark of 12.28m.
Josie Byrne's career-best 12.74m in the weight throw placed her in sixth place.

The Hardrockers return to action on Feb. 7 at the DWU Alumni Open in Mitchell, South Dakota.
