COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Lang Gappelberg has been named the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week following a 30-16 victory at Fort Lewis.
Lang Gappelberg led the Hardrocker defense with six total tackles, two of them being solo tackles. He opened the second half with an interception on the Skyhawks second play, returning it to the Fort Lewis five-yard line. The Hardrockers would score a touchdown on the next drive.
He also picked up a pass breakup on the last play of the game, cementing a 30-16 victory for the Hardrockers.
The Rockers defense held Fort Lewis to just 15 rushing yards on 17 attempts with one touchdown given up and three field goals. They turned the Skyhawks over five times on Saturday afternoon.
Gappelberg has 32 tackles for the Rockers this season. He also has three pass breakups and one interception through six contests.

st Black Hills Brawl on Oct. 17 at 6 p.m. The Rockers head to Golden for a matchup with Colorado School of Mines on Oct. 24.
