Volleyball Stays Home for UCCS and (RV) MSU Denver

RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Volleyball resumes RMAC play with UCCS and (RV) MSU Denver at home this weekend.

Series History

UCCS leads the all-time series with South Dakota Mines 11-5 since 2014. However, the Rockers have won three of the last four matchups, including a 3-0 victory earlier this season. Ivy Vindivich had a double-double with 13 kills and 13 digs in that match.

Against MSU Denver, the Hardrockers are 1-13 since 2015. Their lone win against the Roadrunners was a 3-1 victory in 2019.

About the Mountain Lions

UCCS is 8-6 overall and 3-1 in the RMAC so far this season. In the RMAC Regional Pod, they took down Regis 3-0 but fell against CSU Pueblo in five sets. Their lone loss in RMAC play was a 3-1 loss against #19 MSU Denver.

Payton Tompkins leads the Mountain Lions with 3.47 kills per set, the second-best mark in the RMAC. Alysse Marcoso has 221 total digs with 4.17 digs per set for the Mountain Lions. UCCS was picked to win the RMAC after a 2025 berth in the 2025 NCAA DII Volleyball Tournament.

About the Roadrunners

MSU Denver comes to South Dakota with their 8-6 overall record and 3-1 RMAC clip. They split the RMAC Regional Pod, defeating Colorado Christian but falling to Colorado School of Mines. Their one RMAC loss was a five-set defeat to Colorado Mesa.

Brooke Gennerman leads the RMAC and is 13th in NCAA DII with 4.36 kills per set. GabriElle Brewer's 10.08 assists per set is first in the conference. The 2025 NCAA DII national champions were picked tied for third in the RMAC Preseason Poll.

About the Hardrockers

After their 2-0 RMAC Regional Pod, the Hardrockers are 11-3 overall and 3-1 in the RMAC. They defeated Chadron State 3-2 and Black Hills State 3-1 last week. After defeating Western Colorado, Fort Lewis and CSU Pueblo, the Rockers fell to Colorado Christian in five sets.

The Rockers have two players averaging more than three kills per set, with Cate Warren averaging 3.43 kills and Lexi Glendenning putting up 3.30 kills per set. Maria Bouman's 29 aces are first in the conference. As a team, the Rockers 17.56 points per set is first in the RMAC. The Hardrockers were picked eighth in the RMAC Preseason Poll.

South Dakota Mines will hit the road next weekend to take on New Mexico Highlands and Adams State before returning home for Hall of Fame Weekend.
