RAPID CITY, S.D. – South Dakota Mines Track & Field is at the UMary Winter Classic on Saturday in Bismarck, North Dakota.
The Hardrockers Men's team is coming off a first-place performance at the Dave Little Alumni Mile Open at Black Hills State last week.
Zachary Vanicek, Everertt Gilbert,
Isaac Haynie,
John Strabala and
Noah Feldt all picked up first place in their respective events in Spearfish.
On the women's side, the Hardrockers recorded sixth place. Adysin Schenck highlighted for the Rockers with a 12.46m mark in the shot put for second place.
Emily Jones ran a 2:30.34 in the 800-meter event, placing her in second place.
At the UMary Winter Classic last season, the Hardrockers picked up four event wins.
What's Next
South Dakota Mines will travel to Chadron State next weekend for the Don Holst Open on Jan. 31. After that meet, they will participate in the DWU Alumni Open on Feb. 7 at Dakota Wesleyan.
