RAPID CITY, SD – South Dakota Mines Volleyball is at home for the first time this season to face CSU Pueblo on Friday at 6 p.m. and Colorado Christian on Saturday at 6 p.m.
Series History
Against CSU Pueblo, the Hardrockers are 4-9 all-time dating back to 2012. South Dakota Mines lost their first eight matches against CSU Pueblo but have won four of the last five matchups. These two teams split their matches last year as the Thunderwolves won in Pueblo, while the Hardrockers won in Rapid City.
Colorado Christian is 10-4 against South Dakota Mines in their all-time history. While the Hardrockers swept the Cougars in the regular season last year, Colorado Christian defeated South Dakota Mines 3-1 in the RMAC Tournament opening round. The Hardrockers have won three of the last four matches against the Cougars.
About the Thunderwolves
CSU Pueblo is 6-4 overall this season with a 2-0 record in the RMAC. They are coming off a weekend sweep at home against Regis and Chadron State. Between both matches, the Thunderwolves hit for a collective .337 with 85 total kills. CSU Pueblo is fourth in the RMAC with 13.18 kills per set and fourth with 2.0 blocks per set.
Caelyn Gunn is first in the RMAC and eighth in NCAA DII with her 4.45 kills per set. Elena Stankovic has 9.48 assists per set, the second-best mark in the RMAC. CSU Pueblo was picked to finish fifth in the RMAC after they went 16-11 overall last season.
About the Cougars
Through 10 matches, Colorado Christian is 7-3 overall with a 2-0 RMAC record. Their best win of the season came on Sept. 9, where they topped #2 Angelo State, the highest ranked opponent the Cougars have ever beaten. The Cougars go into the weekend on a five-match winning streak after defeating Chadron State and Regis last weekend.
Colorado Christian is second in the RMAC in points, blocks and service aces. Renee Phillips leads the RMAC with her 1.14 blocks per set this season. Krista Taylor put up a triple-double against Regis to win the RMAC Setter of the Week award. Colorado Christian was picked third in the conference this season after they made the NCAA Tournament in 2024.
About the Hardrockers
South Dakota Mines goes into the weekend with a 2-8 overall record and 2-0 RMAC record. After losing their first eight matches against tough competition, the Hardrockers won their conference openers at Western Colorado and Fort Lewis last weekend. This weekend starts a four-match homestand for South Dakota Mines as they host Black Hills State and Chadron State next week.
Morgan Daugherty is first on the team with her 3.16 kills per set, while
Lexi Glendenning is second with 3.11 kills per set.
Hannah Benes is third in the conference with her 4.45 digs per set this season. Benes is coming off the RMAC Defensive Player of the Week award after she averaged 5.12 digs per set last weekend. The Hardrockers were picked to finish in fourth place this season after a historic 2024 season.

The Hardrockers will stay at home to face Black Hills State on Sept. 30 at 7 p.m. to begin the RMAC Regional Pod. They will face Chadron State at home on Oct. 3 at 6 p.m. before they go back on the road to UCCS on Oct. 10.
