SHERIDAN, Wyo. – South Dakota Mines completed the Travis Roy Memorial Invite on Tuesday with both teams finishing in 10
th place.
On day one, the men's team shot a collective 319, guided by a 73 from
Brycen Farris. He recorded two birdies and an eagle in the round.
Tyler White shot an 80, Matai Naquica recorded an 82 and
Isaac Schmidt rounded out the starters with his 84.
The women put up a 341 on the first day.
Kenzie Schroeder and
Alison Kennedy both led the team with their score of 84.
Marin Keller had an 86, while
Addiley Lloyd shot an 87.
Both teams improved on day two. Schmidt highlighted for the men with a 69, the lowest round of any Hardrocker. The freshman had seven birdies in the round. Naquica and White both had a 73, while Farris recorded an 81. The team shot a collective 296, the sixth-best round of the day. Overall, they finished in 10
th place.
On the women's side, they also improved on day two with a collective 327. Schroeder led the team with her 76, guided by three birdies. Kennedy picked up an 83, while both
Lora Ortega and Lloyd collected an 84. The Hardrockers finished in 10
th place overall.
Colorado Mesa won on the men's side, followed by CSU Pueblo and Colorado Christian. The CSU Pueblo women dominated with a 580, 30 strokes better than Texas A&M International in second. Colorado Mesa rounded out the top three for the women. Individually, Dylan Everett from Colorado Mesa shot a 136 to pace the men, while Thale Victoria Estensen won from CSU Pueblo for the women with her 140.
What's Next
South Dakota Mines is back in action next week at The Homestake Invite at Spearfish Canyon CC. The Hardrockers will host the men's tournament, while Black Hills State is hosting the women's side.
