COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference (RMAC) announced on Thursday that Braydon Jones has been named the 2024-25 RMAC Men's Golf Academic Player of the Year for the second consecutive year. Jones heads the First Team Academic All-RMAC, which includes eight student-athletes from five institutions.
Jones, an electrical engineering major from Aberdeen, South Dakota, recently graduated from South Dakota Mines with a 4.00 GPA. A three-time College Sports Communicators Academic All-American, three-time Summit Award Winner, and three-time RMAC All-Academic - First Team selection, Jones has racked up the academic accolades during his time as a Hardrocker. This past season, Jones played in eight tournaments, with a season-best 10th-place finish at the Hardrocker Fall Invite, and ranks among the Top 200 players in the South Central region.
In addition to Jones, four other men's golf team members earned honor roll selections: Alex Makarchuk, Caeden Ekroth, Tyler White, and Everette Carroll. The women's golf team saw five individuals earn recognition: Kenzie Schroeder, Allison Kahler, Lora Ortega, Julia Sabetti, and Taylor Ullen.

To qualify for the RMAC All-Academic First Team and Academic Player of the Year, student-athletes must maintain a 3.5 GPA, be using a year of eligibility, and be in their second year at their current institution. For the honor roll, it is the same requirements, but only need to have a 3.3 GPA Each institution's athletic communications directors nominate and vote to compose the First Team Academic All-RMAC and select the Academic Player of the Year. They are not permitted to vote for their student-athletes.
